Jaered Glavin
Born in England, Jaered grew up in West Sussex. He started
dancing at the age of two and when he was fourteen he gained a
place at London's Royal Ballet School, going on to win second prize
in the school's choreographic competition. He was also a finalist
in the Young British Dancer of the Year competition.
Jaered joined Royal New Zealand Ballet in September 2008. His
tribute to Lady Gaga, created during an in-house choreographic
workshop, became a sensation on YouTube in 2010. When Jaered
performed the role of Escamillo in 2010's The Meridian Season of
Carmen The Listener said, "Jaered Glavin as the rock star,
Escamillo, gives a dazzling display of virtuoso dancing." Jaered is
also one of the stars in the TV3's The Secret Lives of
Dancers.
