Medhi Angot
Medhi joined Royal New Zealand Ballet in September 2008. Born
and raised in France, he trained at the prestigious Paris Opera
Ballet School and went on to become a member of English National
Ballet. In 2004 he won 4th place in the International
Ballet Competition, Varna, Bulgaria
He has received great praise for many roles while with RNZB. Of
his performance as the lead in Peter Pan the Otago
Daily Times wrote: "Medhi Angot gives a stunning
interpretation of Peter." In 2011's recent TOWER Tutus on
Tour, the NZ Herald commended him for his portrayal
of Pinocchio saying he, "masters the antics of the wooden puppet
boy with comedic elan."
Career highlights include performing the Blue Bird in Kenneth
MacMillan's The Sleeping Beauty with the English National
Ballet and the Resolution pas de trois choreographed by
Wayne Eagling. Medhi recently danced the Bluebird again in RNZB's
2011 Meridian Season of The Sleeping Beauty.
