Alana Baird

Described as a strong and confident dancer with a maturity beyond her years, Alana Baird graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2003 and joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet the following year.

The Australian-born dancer made her debut with the company in The Celebrated Soubrette. Other roles include Queen of the Wilis in Giselle “danced with chilling aloofness” and the Bride in Michael Parmenter’s Les Noces “a performance that evolved effortlessly from feral to graceful.” Most recently Alana performed the role of Fairy Godmother in Christopher Hampson's Cinderella. In her spare time, Alana studies law by correspondence.
