Wellington-born, Alayna Ng has been dancing since the age of four. Now 19, Alayna graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance last year with a National Certificate in Dance Performance.
Her performance of George Balanchine’s virtuosic pas de deux Tarantella during the School’s Graduation Season was described by Maggie Foyer, Dance Europe, as “feminine charm in a crowd pleasing display of one upmanship”. While still a student, Alayna performed with the Royal New Zealand Ballet during seasons of The Wedding and Giselle.
Last year she joined the company and ejoyed performing in Swan Lake and Cinderella. After a long day’s rehearsal, Alayna likes to relax by immersing herself in the worlds of Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy.
