Benjamin Chown graduated from The Australian Ballet School, and in 2004 joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet. He has danced with The Australian Ballet and West Australian Ballet. Before ballet, Benjamin was a gymnast.
For three years in a row he held the state trampoline title for Western Australia, going on to become a national Australian gymnastics champion. In 2005 Benjamin delighted New Zealand audiences as Fritz in The Nutcracker, with one writer highlighting his “split-second timing and larger-than-life comic exuberance.”
Benjamin also has a keen interest in hip-hop, mc-ing, dj-ing, breakin’ and graffin’.
