Brendan Bradshaw began ballet lessons as a six-year-old in the small New South Wales timber town of Wauchope. He then trained at The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne graduating with the Graeme Murphy Award for Excellence in Contemporary Dance.
Since joining the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2004, Brendan has danced a variety of roles with personal highlights including working with Javier De Frutos in Banderillero, performing with the company in the UK and San Francisco and most recently in China.
Last year he performed Jean de Brienne in Raymonda Variations and Concerto Pas De Deux in TOWER Tutus on Tour. “Brendan Bradshaw creates cool and tensile magic with Chantelle Kerr in the Concerto Pas De Deux where the lifts and careful placement of a partner are crucial,” noted one reviewer. He also played two princes in 2007 - Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake and the Prince in Cinderella. He recently performed the role of Romeo in Christopher Hampson's Romeo & Juliet.
