Catherine Eddy was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She danced with The Australian Ballet for six years before joining the RNZB at the beginning of 2006.
Her first year with the company has included roles as a trolley dolly and exotic dancer in The Wedding, various roles in the triple bill Trinity, and culminating with her dancing the role of Giselle. “As Giselle, Catherine Eddy provides an enchanting and intelligent display, conveying a real sense of character through gesture, dance and acting.”
Her recent performance in Concerto Pas de Deux in Tutus On Tour was hailed as “exquisite” by one reviewer. When Cat isn’t in the ballet studio, she dreams of owning a Siberian husky and would very much like to learn to play the drums.
