Loughlan Prior

Loughlan’s first danced with Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2009 when he joined the company for that year’s TOWER Tutus on Tour season. When he graduated from New Zealand School of Dance at the end of that year, he was offered a full-time place with RNZB.

Before moving to New Zealand, the Australian-born dancer trained at the Parkwood Dance Academy and The Victorian College of Arts. He was a guest dancer in the West Australian Ballet’s 2008 season of John Cranko’s The Taming of the Shrew and was featured in an exhibition of Stephen A’Court’s dance photography, Body, in 2009.

Dancing since the age of seven, he says his favourite productions are Romeo & Juliet, Divergence, Petit Mort and The Rite of Spring.
