
Maree White joined the RNZB at the end of 2006 for the production of Giselle, dancing the role of Queen of the Willis.
At 16, after being awarded her RAD solo seal, the Cairns native received a scholarship to study at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School and danced with the Wiener Staatsoper. Its then director, Renato Zenella, choreographed the solo Power Spot for her entry at the Prix de Lausanne in 1998, where she was a semi-finalist.
For six years Maree was a soloist at the Deutsche Oper Am Rhein in Dusseldorf. She has worked with many renowned choreographers including John Neumeier, Yuri Vamos, Christopher Bruce and Hans van Manen.
Since joining the RNZB she has danced many prominent roles including pas de trois in Swan Lake, Plan to A, and in last year’s production of Don Quixote she performed the roles of Mercedes and Mercedes’ friend. . In 2010 she performed in the triple bill season of From Here to There.
