WHAT do the dancers of the Royal New Zealand Ballet do to
prepare for a new production? How old are the dancers? How many
hours do they dance each day?
The Royal New Zealand Ballet's A Day in the Life event
is a chance to find out the answers to everything you want to know
about what it's like to be a dancer in New Zealand's national
ballet company.
A Day in the Life is a free event for the whole family,
where you get to take a peek behind-the-scenes of the Royal New
Zealand Ballet.
The day offers a chance to not only ask questions but also:
- Watch dancers taking a class and gain a rare insight
into their daily training schedule.
- Watch the dancers rehearse and perform some of the
company's recent repertoire.
- Listen to former dancer and current Ballet Mistress,
Turid Revfeim, talk about the history of the Royal New Zealand
Ballet.
- Children aged from 5-10 years old can participate in a
fun-filled creative dance workshop with a Dance Explorer
Educator.
