Jorma Elo is one of the “hot” choreographers working today. His energetic and inspiring work is based on his experience of working with some of the worlds most respected and ground breaking choreographers, including William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian and Matz Ek. ‘Plan to A’ is an abstract work for seven dancers (3 women and 4 men) and presents audiences with sizzlingly energetic choreography. Dressed in stunning red, the dancers move seamlessly across the stage in a highly stylized, mesmerizing flow of movement.

About the Work

‘Plan to A’ was initially going to be called ‘Lab’ (as in laboratory). Jorma Elo was greatly inspired by the life and work of his father who was an urologist and loved working on tests in the laboratory. With ‘Plan to A’ Elo considered the dance studio his ‘laboratory’ as he tried out his ideas and experimented with putting different movements together in relation to the music. ‘Plan to A’ suggests a journey towards something or somewhere, an exploration.

Nancy Euverink says of Elo:
Jorma loves to choreograph. All the experiences he has working with different companies and people he has never met before- it is like being in a laboratory where experimentation takes place. It is like conducting a test. Who works well together? Who needs more time to master the movements etc?
