The Royal New Zealand Ballet is an intrinsic part of New
Zealand's national heritage, and has the largest following of all
New Zealand performing arts companies.
We are fortunate to receive significant funding from Te Manatū
Taonga, the Ministry for Culture and heritage, but this, together
with income from ticket sales, is not enough to sustain the Royal
New Zealand Ballet's work as a truly national company. Sponsorship,
grants, donations and legacies now make up more than 25% of our
annual income and are vital to the company's continuing
success.
The Board, artistic and management teams and especially the
dancers, are grateful to the companies, individuals and
grant-making organisations whose enlightened support contributes to
every aspect of our work, behind the scenes and onstage.
In particular, we would like to thank our national and season
sponsors Meridian Energy, TOWER and TelstraClear; The Lion
Foundation, who support our flagship Dance Explorer education
programme; the Friends of the Royal New Zealand Ballet; our Partner
a Dancer supporters; and members of The Dress Circle donor
programme.
If you would like to become involved with your national ballet
company, please do get in touch. We welcome donations of all sizes,
and every gift will be put to good use.
More information is available below, or for an initial
conversation, please contact Glenn Horsfall, Development
Coordinator, on 04 381 9033. We are always pleased to speak with
potential supporters and to discuss ways in which you could become
involved in the life of the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
