The world’s most famous love story returns to the stage. Christopher Hampson’s exquisite ballet version of Romeo and Juliet was first performed by the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2003 and, following a hugely successful UK tour, was nominated for a Laurence Oliver Award for Best Production in 2005.

With their families locked in a bitter feud, Romeo and Juliet’s fate is doomed. While they will do anything to be together, their families will do anything to keep them apart. Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s ravishing score, this highly dramatic and visually stunning production is inspired by the look of Fellini’s La Dolce Vita and Baz Luhrmann’s film version of this Shakespearean masterpiece.

Featuring a rich and bloody colour palate by designer Tracy Grant Lord, join the lovers as they battle against their families in order to follow their hearts, only to have their happiness shattered forever.
