
Auckland-born, Taupo-raised Turid Revfeim was appointed Ballet Mistress in 2003. Her association with the company dates back to 1980 when she first toured as dancer in The Nutcracker. She spent four years as a soloist with the ballet company of the Theater der Stadt Koblenz in Germany.
While in Europe she danced at the prestigious Bayreuther Festspiele each summer from 1982-86, rejoining the RNZB at the end of 1986. In 1997 she worked for the Eric Languet Dance Company as Rehearsal Assistant and Stage Manager, and later that year had her daughter Emma. In 1999 she retired from dancing and took up an administrative position in the company. The Royal New Zealand Ballet has performed four of her works.
Si Supieras was commissioned for the 2004 Otago Festival of the Arts and was restaged for the 2005 Tutus On Tour season. Three over Four and Bernarda Alba’s House featured in the 1999 Originals season and Kleines Requiem in 2000’s Next Step season. Turid has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the Queensland University of Technology. Last year Turid returned to the stage as the Stepmother in Cinderella.
